J&K Bank conducts awareness programmes in Ganderbal, Shopian and Poonch

J&K Bank commissions ATM at Khawas block in Rajouri

Srinagar, Jan 19: J&K Bank conducted an awareness cum training camp at Kangan Ganderbal. Lead Bank Office Ganderbal organized the camp in collaboration with ITI Kangan wherein scores of trainees and the teaching staff of the institute besides Lead District Manager and officials from the bank’s Kangan branch, RSETI Ganderbal and government agencies including EDI participated.
Facilitator FLCC Ganderbal Reyaz Ahmad Kawoosa welcomed the participants and apprised them about the basic concept of banking and procedures for opening of savings and other deposit accounts with the bank.
He also spoke about advantages of saving with banks besides borrowings from banks under various loan schemes especially Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana.
LDM Ganderbal Faiz ullah Qureshi apprised audience about the features of various deposit & loan schemes, various modes of remittances, Debit & Credit Card facilities & various government sponsored schemes in general, SKEWPY and MUDRA in particular for establishment of income and employment generating units.
Superintendent ITI Ghulam Nabi Shah and the other participants hailed the initiative of the bank for conducting such awareness camps.
Shopian Camps
Meanwhile, the bank conducted various financial literacy camps in Shopian during the last many weeks.
The banks Financial Literacy and Credit Counseling centre Shopian organized a mega awareness camp in Melhora village of Shopian and has been selected under Sansad Adharsh Gram Yojna (SAGY) programme as a modal village.
Speaking on the occasion, Cluster Head Shopian informed the prticipants about advantages of savings with banks.
Urging the audience to avail the benfits of services offered for their own convenience, he also spoke at length about PMJDY, PMMY and other government sponsored schemes.
He educated the audience about the various products and services of the bank.
At a camp organized in RSETI Shopian, Facilitator FLCC Shopian M A Jan educated the trainees regarding procedures on how to approach banks for finance to promote and establish their business enterprises.
The speaker informed them social security schemes like PMSBY, JJBY, APY and P MMY loan schemes in three categories, viz. SHISHU, KISHORE and TARUN.
Six more such camps were organized across the district at various places during the last few weeks.
Poonch Programme
The 6-day ‘Entrepreneurship Development Programme’ under PMEGP scheme sponsored by KVIC, KVIB and DIC concluded at Rural Self Employment Training Insititute Poonch, wherein 40 unemployed youth from various villages of the district were imparted training.
The bank’s Cluster Head Poonch Ghulam Ahmed Jeelani Dar was Chief Guest at the valediction function.
He had an interactive session with the participants wherein he explained to them the needs for adopting self employment in the present scenario and assured them of every financial assistance from the Bank.
Cluster Head distributed the certificates of participation among the trainees who were very enthusiastic and expressed their satisfaction over the way the training was conducted.
Director RSETI Ayub Ahmad Khuroo thanked the guests and assured all the participants of total support from JKBRSETI, Poonch for establishment of their income generating units.
