Kargil, Dec 17: As part of series of events, the Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR), Kargil today inaugurated a two-day Skill Development Workshop for journalists of Kargil district.

The workshop was graced by Assistant Director, Information, Kargil, Raza Ali Abbidi as the chief guest. Assistant Information Officer, Anwar Ali Tsarpa, reporters, photographers, DIPR-Kargil, copy editors, President and members of Press Club Kargil, and senior journalists working with print, electronic and online media attended the workshop.

Meeqat Hashmi, Strategic Partnerships Manager and Associate Executive Editor with ABP News; Jamal Afroz Khan, filmmaker and cinematographer (with 18 years of experience as Head of Camera and Production Design at Aaj Tak and currently serving at Rekhta Foundation) and Iftikhar Hussain, cinematographer, photographer from Planet Ladakh, were invited as the resource persons for the workshop.

The resource persons shared their valuable insights on various aspects of journalism, particularly in digital content creation, the algorithms that determine news reach, and the working mechanisms of photography.

Topics such as types of photography, its essential techniques, and other key skills were also discussed, greatly enhancing the participants’ understanding.
