JAMMU: The HDFC Bank has registered highest ever deposits to the tune of Rs.909 crore so far during the current fiscal, out of the which Rs.365 crore have been advanced as credit to the people of the State.. The bank has recorded 37% Credit Deposit Ration (CDR) up to November 2012 against an assigned target of 40% CDR.
This was stated at the launching ceremony of 49th Branch of the HDFC Bank at Narwal, Jammu today. The Bank has opened 130 ATMs in various parts of the J&K for the facility and convenience of the customers. The bank has a plan to open 10 more branches and 30 ATMs up to coming March 2013.
The Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, Mr. Ab. Rahim Rather, who was chief guest on the occasion, after inaugurating the Bank Branch at narwal today appreciated the Bank Management for providing better Banking service to the people of the State, adding that it has provided employment to a considerable number of educated youth of the State and has also given rise to a stiff competition to other Banking Institutions which is in the larger interests of the general people. Due to competition among Banks the customers get better banking services and facilities, Mr. Rather added. He assured all possible assistance to the Bank and asked its management to bring remote and rural areas also under its ambit.
The State Head, Jammu and Kashmir and Vice President of the HDFC, Bank Mr. Zubar Iqbal on this occasion, assured that the Bank would achieve its assigned target of 40% CDR by the end of current financial year. He said more than 1000 educated un-employment youth of the State have been recruited in various branches of the Bank so far.
He said HDFC Bank, Branch Narwal Jammu is the 6th Branch opened during last two days. Yesterday adding that yesterday two branches, one each at Rajouri and Poonch districts were commissioned whereas 4 new branches were inaugurated at Satwar, Doda, Bhaderwah and Narwal today.
MR. Zubair said HDFC, Bank is the second largest private bank in the country which has a countrywide network of 2,620 branches and 10,316 ATMs. He said, as a leading bank of the country, “We are committed to taking world class banking to the hinterland.
