Srinagar: Strongly opposing the proposed fencing along the Line of Control (LoC), Hurriyat Conference (G) has said that it will oppose any move aimed at erecting fence along the LoC. Terming fencing as the game plan of Indian authorities, Hurriyat Conference (G) in a statement declared that it will organize protests and impress the international community to take cognizance of any such move aimed at disturbing the disputed nature of Kashmir.
Wednesday in a press release spokesman of the conglomerate ,Ayaz Akbar said that an extra ordinary meeting of executive council of Hurriyat Confrence and General secretary, Gh Nabi Sumji in chair, was held at Hyderpora , in which all the constituent s including Muslim Confrence, Peoples League, Mass Movment,Muslim Khawateen Markaz ,Democratic Political Movement ,Tehrik E Wehdat Islami, Tehreek e Hurriyat, Peoples Freedom League, and Employees Movement participated.
“The issue was discussed and after deliberations it was declared that the said step aims to affect the disputed nature of the Kashmir issue and maintain status quo. It is a sinister move and India is bent upon to exceed the international agreements and directions of international bodies with regards to the present geographical status and seize fire between India and Pakistan. The executive council in an appeal to international community, to intervene the fencing proposal of India and restrain India from any such moveâ€, said the spokesperson in a statement issued here.
He said that in the meeting Pakistan was asked to clear its stand if it has not changed its stand over the Kashmir issue and explain its position and raise voice against the said move. â€It was observed in the meeting that Pakistan has maintained silence and it has developed concern and questions with regards to the stand of Pakistanâ€, Akbar said.
Spokesman Ayaz Akbar in his statement added that it was resolved in the meeting that Hurriyat Confrence would oppose the move tooth and nail and will try its best to make people aware in both parts of disputed territory. “All the constituents of the conglomerate expressed their serious concern that some quarters are deliberately affecting the issue and advocating the flexibility and so called softening of borders and making mess of trade and the Kashmir issue. This is detrimental for the just cause said Hurriyat conference in meeting. We affirm that any such move to alter the international status of boarders will harm and prove detrimental for the Kashmir issueâ€, he added. He said that it will have a disastrous effect for the sacrifices laid by people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“In the executive council it was also observed that India is least interested in the proposed trade and business and is only interested in cunning politics and intends to dilute the core issue with that of business that too for pomp and show. The constituent members also observed and clarified that India and Pakistan are free to improve and extend their mutual trade but any solution or agreement contrary to the aspirations of the people will meet the same fate as that of Shimla and Tashqant agreements
