Kasargod , July 7: Karnataka police recovered bodies of two youths, who were allegedly killed by three-member quotation gang at the behest of gold smugglers, at Maruthadakkam Shankarankadu in northern most district of Kasargod in Kerala today.
Police said sleuths probing the murder of Hafim (25) of Kuttichira in Kozhikode and Nafeer (24) of Saidarpalli near Thalassery in Kannur District found the bodies after the gang identified the spot where they were buried.
A team of doctors, who accompanied the police team from Karnataka, conducted post-mortem on the spot, they said adding the bodies were later handed over to the relatives.
The police had yesterday arrested the gang members Munafath Munafar Sanaf (25), Mohammed Irshad (24) and Mohammemd Rizwan (24).
According to investigators, Hafim and Nazer were handed over 3 kg of gold by smugglers at Dubai in November 2013 to hand it over it to a person at a stipulated places.
The duo instead sold it at Kasargod inviting the wrath of the smugglers, they said.
Admiitting the crime, the accused had told that police that the murder was committed in a rented premises in Mangalore on, July 1, police added. (agency)
