Srinagar, January 1 (KMW): A youth was injured during clashes with government forces in Drabgam village of Pulwama ahead of the funeral of slain Jaish militant Manzoor Ahmad Baba.
Baba was killed along with an associate Fardeen Ahmad Khandey after the duo carried a Fidayeen attack on CRPF training centre in Lethpora area of Awantipora yesterday in southern Kashmir.
Reports said that the clashes erupted after forces stopped people from participating in the funeral prayers of the slain militant.
Witnesses said that forces resorted used live bullets besides teargas shells to disperse the protesters.
A youth was hit by a bullet in his face during clashes. He was shifted to District Hospital Pulwama where from he was referred to Srinagar for specialized treatment.
Earlier, Fardeen Khnadey was laid to rest at Nazneenpora village of Tral. Reorts said that forces had laid an outer cordon in the area to stop people from thronging the funeral besides, barring militants from offering gun-salute.
