Srinagar, Jan 1 (KMW): Life was on Monday, crippled due to strike in Pulwama district in southern Kashmir, where two Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) militants were killed in a fierce encounter after a group of fidayeen stormed into a camp in the wee hours of Sunday. Five Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were also dead in the attack.
Shops and business establishments remained closed in the district, including main town Pulwama, Tral, Awantipora and Pampore though there was no strike call from any organisation.
Life was paralysed at Drubgam, the native village of one of the two slain miltants Manzoor Ahmad Baba, and dozens of nearby areas.
Similarly business and other activities also remained shut at Tral, the native village of another miltant Fardeen Ahmad Khandey.
Reports of complete shut down have also been received from Awantipora and Pampore besides other areas in the district.
