Srinagar, July 24 (KMW): Muslims of Kashmir bid farewell to the ongoing month of Ramadan on the eve of Jumat-ul-Vida (Last Friday) of Ramadan month on July 25 with the huge congregations witnessed in Jamia Masjid and Hazratbal.
Reports informed KMW that valley observed Jumat-ul-Vida, the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadhan with traditional piety and religious fervor. The day was also be marked with a huge turnout at all mosques. Pertinently the Jumat-ul-Vida, last Friday of the Ramdhan was observed as Jumat-ul-Qudus across the valley.
According to KMW correspondent, the largest gathering of the day was held at Jamia Masjid followed by Hazratbal shrine, followed by Char-e-Shareef where the faithful congregated in large numbers since morning. A large number of people also offered prayers at Dastgeer Saheb Khanyar, Maqdhoom Saheb, Asar-e-Sharief Kailashpora, Jenab Saheb Soura, Dastgeer Saheb Sarai Payeen. Reports from other districts said that arrangements were made for a large number of people to offer prayers at all the major towns.
Major congregations converged at Handwara, Pulwama, Baramulla, Sopore, Chrar-e-Sharief, Asar Sharief Pinjora, Khiram Sirhama, Tral, Ashmuqam, Baba Reshi among other places. The SRTC had been directed to have buses into service to cater to the huge rush of devotees. Many private operators and charity organizations had also made arrangements for the devotees. Congregational prayers were also held at Jammu and Kargil. Shab-e-Qadr, also known as Laylat-ul-Qadr will be observed all over Kashmir on Friday night with great religious zeal and sanctity. People will offer night long prayers and recite holy Qur’an in Masjids and shrines all across Kashmir.
In North Kashmir, people in large numbers offered the Jumat-ul-Vida congregational prayers at Jamia Masjid Hanfia, Jamia Masjid Ahle Hadith, Jamia Masjid Murshadin, Markazi Jamia Masjid Muqam-e-Shahwali in and around Kupwara town. Huge congregational prayers were also offered in Ziarat-e-Sharief Muqam-e-Shahwali and Drugmulla areas of the district.
In Baramulla, the biggest congregational prayers were held in Bait-ul- Mukarram Jamia Masjid. Huge congregational prayers were also witnessed in Khankah Sopore, Jamia Masjid Kreeri, Pattan and Jamia Tangmarg.
Meanwhile, special prayers were offered for the freedom of Kashmir. Meanwhile, peaceful protest marches were taken out from across the Kashmir Valley including Srinagar, Budgam, and Baramulla which went through their respective markets. The processions were attended by people from both the Shia and Sunni communities which according to locals was a great achievement. “Israel and USA are our common enemies and they don’t kill us in the name of Shia or Sunnis but they kill us in the name of Muslims, so why shall we not fight against this enemy together†the protestors chanted.
