Leh, June 14, 2026: A training programme on Disaster Preparedness, Emergency Response, and the Use of Disaster Response Equipment was successfully conducted for State Emergency Operations Centre (SEOC) staff, teachers, and school children.

The programme aimed to enhance awareness and strengthen the capacity of participants in disaster preparedness and emergency response measures. Shri Binu Samuel, Deputy Commandant, 13th Battalion, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), served as the Resource Person and delivered an informative session on disaster preparedness, emergency response protocols, and the effective use of disaster response equipment.

Dr. Stanzin Passang, Project Manager, DMRRR-SEOC, UT Ladakh, was also present on the occasion. Addressing the participants, he emphasized the importance of preparedness, awareness, and community participation in disaster risk reduction and highlighted the need for building a culture of safety and resilience.

The training included practical demonstrations and interactive sessions, enabling participants to gain valuable knowledge and hands-on experience in handling emergency situations.

The programme significantly enhanced the knowledge and practical skills of the participants and contributed towards the vision of building a safer, more resilient, and disaster-ready Ladakh.
