Srinagar: Committed to spread financial literacy with an aim to bring positive change in people’s lives, J&K Bank, in collaboration with Agriculture Department, organized a number of awareness camps in Bandipora and Pulwama.
Facilitator, Financial Literacy and Credit counselling Centre Bandipora conducted a series of awareness camps in remote villages of Bandipora including Chittaybanday, Gamroo in Gundpora, Kunan in CA Khan, Sumlar, Chintmulla, Sonarwani Chek Reshipora, Arin in Ayathmulla and Kaloosa village in Qazipora Patushai.
The camps witnessed impressive participation of locals who were made aware about need to bring themselves within the ambit of modern financial systemt that offers varied solutions and services to upgrade their economic status. The schemes discussed included Savings Bank Account, Kissan Credit cards, Apple Finance, Artisan credit cards and agri-term finance. The technical aspects of the scheme were discussed by the SDO, Bandipora. Awareness was also given regarding various deposit products available with the Bank. The Lead Bank Officer also attended the camps and interacted with the participants.
Meanwhile, Lead District Manager Pulwama and FLCC Pulwama and Incharge LDM, Pulwama participated in the two Awareness programmes organized by State Handicrafts department at Pampore and Rajpora in Pulwama for handicraft artisans. A number of District and State level functionaries of Handicrafts Department were present on the ocassion.
Bank officials impressed upon the participants to inculcate the habbit of savings and avail various financial solutions to usher a new era of economic growth in their respective lives and areas.
