Hilal War Rebuts Rajnath Statement, Says Kashmir Belongs to Kashmiris

Srinagar, May 26(KMW): Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Political Party (PPP) and senior leader of Hurriyat Conference, Engineer Hilal Ahmad War, on Saturday lambasted at Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh and called him a hypocrite wherein on one hand Rajnath said Indian Government is ready to talk to Hurriyat and Pakistan and on other hand he said Kashmir is ours, Kashmiris are ours.

Mr. War was responding to Rajnath Singh’s statement that he gave today at the India today enclave. Singh had said that New Delhi is willing to talk to Islamabad and Hurriyat leadership but at the same time resorted to the same old rhetoric that “Kashmir and the Kashmiris belong to India.”

PPP Chief, Hilal Ahmad War reminded the Indian Home Minister that Kashmir belongs to Kashmiris and Kashmiris are not de-juri citizens of India. The fate of Kashmir is yet to be decided, said Mr. War.

He said: “Mr. Rajnath Singh should go to school and learn the history of subcontinent of India and Pakistan, the history will tell him that Jammu and Kashmir is internationally recognized disputed territory and Indian position in Jammu and Kashmir is like a Foreigner and an occupier.”

Mr. War said that Mr. Rajnath and his Prime Minister, Narender Modi should not forget the promises and pledges of first Prime Minister of India, Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru to the people of Jammu Kashmir, leadership of Pakistan and the leadership of superpower countries in Indian Parliament of November 25, 1947, All India Radio on November 2, 1947 , at historic Lal Chowk on November 2, 1947 . Telegrams to the then British Prime Minister, Clement Attlee, Pakistani Prime Minister, Liaqat Ali Khan on October 26 and 27 , 1947 respectively wherein he reiterated that “ we have decided that the fate of Kashmir is ultimately to be decided by the people. We will not and cannot back out of it , when Peace and Order is restored , we will have referendum under International auspices like United Nations”.

PPP Chief has asked both Atomic Powers of south- Asia (India and Pakistan) to initiate a time bound Composite dialogue to resolve all outstanding issues including the core issue of Jammu and Kashmir, in order to avoid any likelihood of nuclear conflagration which can engulf the entire world and disturb the International Peace and Security. Therefore, a sustained dialogue between three essential parties to dispute (India, Pakistan and Kashmir) is imperative that too outside the ambit of Indian Constitution.
