Hilal War Arrested Ahead of Lal Chowk March

Srinagar, October 22(KMW): The State Administration has arrested senior keader All Parties Hurriyat Conference (M) and Chairman People’s Political Party (PPP) Engineer Hilal Ahmad War and put him under house detention early morning today at 7 a.m in a bid to foil Lal Chowk March scheduled on October 23, 2018. War expressed shock and grief over the death of civilians in Kulgam on Sunday and expressed solidarity with the bereaved families.

Pertinently War was scheduled to march from uptown Maisuma to Lal Chowk tomorrow to stage a protest against civilian killings in Kulgam, but state authorities did not allow a peaceful procession and detained APHC Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Syed Ali Shah Gilani and Engineer Hilal Ahmad War at their respective residences.

While condemning the brutal killing of civilians in Kulgam, War termed the killing a barbaric, inhuman act, and a well thought out plan of India to kill Kashmiri youth.
“The gruesome killing is a glaring example of Indian genocide policy in Kashmir, ” said War.

Paying rich tributes to 9 civilians and 3 militants killed in Kulgam bloodbath, War said, “Such tragic and heart wrenching tragedies amply prove that India has devised and formulated a genocide policy to kill Kashmiri youth .He also paid glowing tributes to Bijbehara martyrs of 1993 massacre.

In a party pressnote, the PPP spokesman condemned the house detention of party Chairman in strong words saying it amounted to State oppression and a denial of right to expression and peaceful assembly.
