EC Kacho Mohd Feroz Flags Off Bike Rally from Kargil to Damsna

Kargil, August 09: Executive Councillor for Tourism, LAHDC Kargil, Kacho Mohd Feroz, today flagged off a bike rally from Helipad Kargil to Damsna, covering a distance of around 60 km, as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative. 

The event was organised by District Administration, Kargil in collaboration with Police, Defence forces, BRO, NHIDCL, bikers’ associations, and other stakeholders.

Speaking to media at Damsna, EC Feroz termed the rally a commendable initiative and said that Har Ghar Tiranga is not just a symbolic gesture but a reminder of every citizen’s responsibility towards the nation and its democracy. “Every household must reflect on what contribution we can make for our country. This year’s theme focuses on health, and the district administration has also arranged cleanliness programmes at various schools,” he added.

Highlighting Kargil’s patriotic spirit, he said, “If one wishes to see true patriotism, they should see Kargil and how our people protect the borders.” He lauded the rally for promoting tourism and noted that Suru Valley, recognised by National Geographic as one of the best destinations, is known for both spiritual and adventure tourism.

EC Feroz also urged domestic and international tourists to visit Suru Valley, Aryan Valley, and Drass, adding that the upcoming Suru Fest at Nam Suru on August 26 would further boost the region’s tourism potential. He expressed optimism that these areas would continue to grow as premier destinations in the future and thanked all participants for making the rally a success.
