DGP visits Hazratbal, takes stock of security, traffic arrangements

Srinagar, May 05 – Director General of Police (DGP), K Rajendra Kumar today visited Hazratbal and took stock of the security, deployment of personnel and traffic arrangements in connection with Mehraj-ul-Alam and Friday following.
Rajendra discussed in detail on security and deployment plan with senior police officers, camping at Hazratbal and Auqaf authorities. He stressed for proper security management and deployment of cops in and around the shrine during the URS celebrations. He discussed traffic arrangements with the officers and stressed for proper traffic management and maintaining one-way traffic on all the routes leading to the shrine strictly and ensure parking of vehicles at the already identified places.
Rajendra appreciated the efforts made by the traffic department for involving students for facilitating the traffic cops in regulation of traffic of devotees during URS days. He interacted with the volunteer students and discussed traffic regulation with them.
DGP was accompanied by SSP Srinagar Amit Kumar, SSP Traffic Maqsood-ul-Zaman and SP Hazratbal Peerzada Naveed and other police officers.
