CS reviews Darbar Move arrangements in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, May 5: Chief Secretary, B R Sharma on Thursday reviewed Darbar move arrangements in summer capital Srinagar.
While inspecting the renovation and repair works at Civil Secretariat, the Chief Secretary directed the officers of Estates Department to complete all works well before opening up of the annual Darbar. He visited all the cabins and offices of the Ministers and other officials to take stock of the arrangements. He directed the officials of the Estates Department to give aesthetic look to the offices and the surroundings of Civil Secretariat. The Chief Secretary urged to monitor the uninterrupted supply of power and water besides availability of other basic amenities for the move employees.
Sharma was informed that face-lifting and other necessary renovation works have been carried out in various blocks of Secretariat and Assembly complexes besides necessary repairs of government accommodation is going on with full swing and will be completed well before opening of Darbar Move in Srinagar.
The Chief Secretary also visited the Legislative Assembly complex to review the arraignments. He also took stock of the arrangements put in place at Fair View residence of the Chief Minister.
The Chief Secretary was accompanied by Director, Estates Department, Dr G.N Itoo, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone, Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Bashir Ahmad Khan, Deputy Director Estate Waseem Raja, Executive Engineer, Khurshid Ahmad President, Secretariat Non-Gazetted Employees Association, Ghulam Rasool among other high rung officials of Estates departments.
Director, Estates Department, Dr G.N Itoo, informed Sharma that additional accommodation has been made available by the department for move employees at Pampore among other places. He said that arrangements were in final touch before the move offices open in Srinagar. He informed that various teams would be deployed by his Department at various colonies/hotels to facilitate the move employees. He said that the department was making all necessary arrangements for the ministers, bureaucrats and all the move officials. Meanwhile, the CS also visited private accommodations of various high-rung bureaucrats at Nishat, Dewan Bagh among other places top take stock of the arrangements in place. Sharma also visited the Chief Secretary residence and directed officials to speed up the ongoing developmental works.
Sharma later visited residential colonies of Estates Department at Bemina and private accommodations for various high rung officials in various places across city. He took stock of the renovation and repair works in all the residential colonies. He directed the officials to complete the works well before opening of the move offices and asked them to ensure proper cleanliness and sanitation facilities.
Chief Secretary also gave instructions to reassess the security deployment requirements in employee residential colonies in Srinagar. He listened to the grievances of the move employees and Bemina quarters at assured them prompt redressal.
