Jamnagar , the important and historic city of Gujarat is an industrial hub of world. It is also the Brass Capital of the world .
Ashok Domadia , the Managing Director of Microtech Metal Industries and Fitwell Poly. Private Limited an eminent Brass Entrepreneur states : ” Brass is the basic component of many Hardware items . We are well aware that Brass is best used for locks, bearings, gears, doorknobs, musical instruments, zippers, buckles, and other similar hardware. It is a very durable material making it ideal .
rass has long been a popular material for decoration due to its bright, gold-like appearance; being used for drawer pulls and doorknobs. It has also been widely used to make utensils due to properties such as having a low melting point, high workability (both with hand tools and with modern turning and milling machines), durability, and electrical and thermal conductivity.
Brass is still commonly used in applications where corrosion resistance and low friction are required, such as locks, hinges, gears, bearings, ammunition casings, zippers, plumbing, hose couplings, valves, and electrical plugs and sockets. “
Ashok Domadia observes that it is a pride moment that With approximately 7,000 units, Jamnagar is the largest brass parts manufacturing cluster in Asia contunent and has annual turnover totalling to around Rs 2,000 crore.

Past few months were good as pandemic Coronavirus was receeding but with Russia Ukraine War the supply of raw material has been hit hard .Moreover, there has been downfall in exports due to this tense situation. We hope both pandemic and war ends and Brass sector will pick. But, Jamnagar would be a world leader in Brass in coming times that is surety .”
