Advocate Deepika Rajawat invited in Mothers and Daughters festival in England

Jammu, June 23 : Adding another milestone to his career Kathua Rape Victim’s Lawyer Deepika Singh Rajawat has been invited to participate in the 16th annual Mothers and Daughters Festival in Surrey, British Columbia Canada. Earlier Deepika was awarded ‘Woman of the Year’ by the Indian Merchants Chamber of Commerce & Industry Ladies Wing.

In a significant development, Advocate, Human Rights Activist, Deepika Singh Rajawat-the lawyer of Kathua rape and murder case, has been invited to participate in the 16th annual Mothers and Daughters Festival in Surrey, British Columbia Canada. The festival which is also known as ‘Mela Mawan Dhiyan Da’ will begin on June 24th.

She will also be honored in the event for fighting injustice and working for underprivileged class of the society. The lawyer is expected to share her views with some media organizations and also she will get an opportunity to speak at other public forums.

“You will inspire countless other women to stand up and make a difference in the world,’’ reads the invitation latter which also lies with Kashmir News Bureau.

Earlier, Advocate Deepika Singh Rajawat on 11th June Deepika was awarded the ‘Woman of the Year’ by the Indian Merchants Chamber of Commerce & Industry Ladies Wing.

It is important to know, recognizing the efforts of Advocate Deepika Rajawat in providing justice for the family of the eight-year-old Kathua rape victim, Pakistan administrated Kashmir Supreme Court Bar Association has awarded her Honorary Membership, however, she denied accepting the membership.

Notably, world-renowned actress, model, and activist Emma Watson also tweeted into support of Deepika Singh Rajwat.

Deepika Thusoo Singh, 38, a Kashmiri Pandit whose family migrated to Jammu from their ancestral village Karihama in North Kashmir in 1986 had taken up the case of the eight-year-old girl belonging to Bakarwal-Gujjar community who was abducted, raped and murdered in Rassana village in Hiranagar tehsil of Kathua district in January this year.
