Srinagar, June 24(KMW): Jammu and Kashmir Young Journalist Association (JKYJA) has come down heavily on former Minister and BJP leader Lal Singh for his statement that “Kashmiri journalists will meet same fate as Shujaat Bukhari if they do not mend their ways.”

President JKYJA Ajaz War said: “This statement of Lal Singh is outrageous. We all need to rise to the occasion and condemn these vile threats against freedom of expression and speech. This statement is threatening, heinous and criminal in nature. The journalists of Kashmir won’t succumb to such harassment and blackmailing. We will carry on with our job fearlessly.”

Ajaz War said Lal Singh had a history of issuing such obnoxious statements from time to time.

“Lal Singh is a habitual offender and he has shown from time to time how strongly communal he is and what a threat to peace he is. He needs to mend his ways or take retirement from politics. He is so full of ignorance and hatred.”

War said Lal Singh should be prosecuted and questioned for such a strong statement. “Police should arrest him and interrogate him rigorously. Maybe it leads to some breakthrough,” said War.
