Srinagar, Feb 17: Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front led by its senior vice chairman Bashir Ahmed Bhat staged a protest against civilian killings in Pulwama. The protesters tried to take out a march towards city centre Lal Chowk that was foiled by local police. JKLF had planned a sit-in in Lal Chowk on Wednesday to protest against Pulwama killings. However, police arrested dozens of protestors, thus foiling the sit-in.
Before solidarity procession, participants organized a funeral in absentia in Abiguzar Chowk for better half of JKLF founder Muhammad Maqbool Bhat who breathed her last on Tuesday in Karachi Pakistan. The funeral prayers were led by JKLF Vice chairman, Showkat Ahmad Bakshi and it was attended by separatist leaders from different organizations including Molvi Bashir Ahmed from Mass Movement, Yar Muhammad Khan and Muhammad Imran from Democratic Political Movement, Bashir Kashmiri, Shakeel Ahmed Bakshi and others.
