Tourism Deptt. organises cycle race, painting competition

SRINAGAR, (KMW News): As a part of two week long tourism festival 2013, Tourism Department Kashmir today organised cycle race for senior and junior participants.

Director Tourism Kashmir, Talat Parvez flagged off the race at 8:00 AM from Zabarwan to Nageen Club Srinagar.
The race was catogarised in senior and junior in which hundreds of participants took part.
In senior catogary M. Akbar Khan from Magam got the first position Hilal Ahmad Sofi from Shalimar second and Umar Nabi from Munfaq Hazratbal got third position respectively.
In junior catogary Amir Sidique from Kawoosa Magam got first position, Raashid from Shalimar second and Manzoor Ahmed from Kawoosa got third position respectively.
Tourism Department also organised a painting competition for school children at Nageen Club Srinagar. The competition was inaugurated by Director Tourism Kashmir, Talat Parvez.
Among the participants Bazeela Showkat from Presentation Convent got first position, Horrain Jeelani from Linton Hall School got second and Shabnum Kirmani from Srinagar British School got third position.
