Jammu: A top woman militant of Hizb-ul-Mujaheedin was arrested by the security forces from the mountainous Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources here today said.
Rukhsana Begum, 32, wife of Ghulam Hassan, resident of village Shitry, Bhagwa in Doda was apprehended yesterday alongwith her accomplice while she was demanding ‘terror funds’ from a government officer, sources this morning told
‘’Rukhsana was arrested while she was accepting Rs 50,000 as `terror fund’ from a government officer,’’ sources here said, adding her associate Farooq Ahmed was also apprehended and two others managed to escape.
Ruksana has become the third woman militant arrested in less than a month on the disclosure of the Javed Qureshi, the self styled HM Divisional Commander who was arrested from Dehradun last month.
Security forces along with police yesterday on specific inputs that Ruksana had sought ransom from the government officer for Hizb commanders, conducted a raid in civvies and arrested both Rukhsana and her accomplice.
‘’She during questioning also disclosed identity of her three more associates and said she was working for the HM outfit for past some time and extorting funds for the militancy,’’ sources said.
Ruksana has been shifted to Joint Interrogation Centre (JIC), Jammu. Kulsooma Begum, sister of Javed Qureshi and Yasmeena Begum, both residents of Behota, Marmat were arrested earlier for their links with the terrorists.
