J&K Speaker issues Notice to Retd. General V.K. Singh

SRINAGAR: The Spokesperson of J&K Legislative Assembly in a statement issued here today has said that the Assembly Secretariat under the orders of the Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly, Mr. Mubarak Gul has issued a Notice to Retd. General V.K. Singh, former Chief of Army Staff where-under he has been asked to explain his position regarding certain revelations made by him during the course of an interview with a Delhi based News Channel on 23rd September, 2013. The Notice has been issued in response to a Breach of Privilege Notice given by 15 Ministers/ Members against him.
The Spokesperson said that Retd. General V.K. Singh has been given 20 days- time to explain his position in the matter so that further course of action could be decided under the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the J&K Legislative Assembly.
