Slathia inaugurates Rs. 2.25 cr tubewell at Raya in Samba district

SAMBA: Minister for Industries and Commerce Mr. S. S. Slathia said that the government is making all-out efforts to provide all basic amenities to the people of the state especially living in rural areas at their doorsteps.
The Minister was addressing a public meeting after inaugurating Tube-well under Water Supply Scheme at Raya village in Samba district here today. The Tube-well would be fully commissioned at an estimated cost of Rs. 2.25 crore, out of which Rs. 1.52 lakhs have been spent up to ending September, 2011.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister congratulated the people of Raya village for getting the tube well and said that long pending demand of potable water of the people of the area have been redressed. He said that various development projects have been executed in Raya including Raya to Rajinder Nagar road, pace of work on which is in full swing and would be completed at the earliest. He said that Raya to Sachani double lane road project is also under consideration of the government.
The Minister informed that the tube-well is aimed at benefiting 6170 souls of Raya village which lifted about 5000-6000 gallons water per hour. He said that the work on main components of the scheme like tubewell, Sump tank, 2 number of 20,000 Glns Over Head Tank, installation of Electric Transformer/Machinery have been completed and work on distribution line is in full swing.
The minister asserted that government is committed to provide all basic facilities to the people of the State for which government has launched number of schemes for the benefit of the people in the State including IAY, MGNREGA, etc.
Describing that the quality of material is the main agenda of the coalition government; the Minister directed the engineers and other officers for ensuring quality material in the construction work of any development projects adding that no laxity would be tolerated on this aspect.
Among others, District Development Commissioner Samba Mr. Mubarak Singh, SSP Samba Israr Khan, ACD Samba Mr. K. K. Sidha, BDO Vijaypur Noor Alam, BMO Purmandal Dr. D. K. Manyal, AEE PHE Sub Division Vijaypur Mr. Anil Sharma, Administrator Auqaf Samba Mr. Salim Alam, other senior officers of concerned departments, Sarpanchs, Panchs, prominent citizens of Raya and adjoining areas and a large number of people were also present on the occasion.
