Slathia distributes cheque worth Rs 20.37 lakh under CRF

JAMMU: The Minister for Industries and Commerce, Surjeet Singh Slathia today distributed cheques worth Rs 20,37,100 under CRF among the flood affected people of Bari-Brahman, Vijaypur and Ramgarh sector in district samba at Vijaypur.
The Minister distributed Rs 20, 37,100 among 643 beneficiaries of flood affected areas, of which 618 beneficiaries were affected by flood during heavy rainfall while 25 were affected by damage to their crops during 2008.
On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Samba, S.S.P Samba, Tehsildar Vijaypur and all district officers were also present.
The Minister appreciated the role of Deputy Commissioner and all revenue officers for identifying the real beneficiaries within shortest possible time.
Addressing the gathering at Vijaypur, the Minister said that the Government is committed to provide all basic amenities to the people of the state. He said Govt. is fully aware of the problems of the people, who have suffered losses due to flash floods and other natural disasters. He assured that every possible help will be extended to the sufferers for which financial assistance of worth Rs 20,37,100 lakh were distributed under Calamity Relief.
The Minister said that Rs 5 lakh for construction of building and Rs 2.70 lakh for construction library of Higher Secondary School Utterbehni have been received under Chief Minister Relief fund.
The Minister said that under PHE, Power, R&B and Housing sectors, the Chief Minister sanctioned Rs 10 crore for relief disbursement among the beneficiaries. He said that efforts are afoot to provide every assistance to the affected people. He asked the people to cooperate with the government agencies for early completion of various schemes launched for their welfare.
Earlier, the Minister convened the meeting of the Governing Body of Rogi Kalyan Samiti of community Health Centre Ramgarh to take stock of works done by the Samiti.
Chief Medical Officer Samba, Dr. Javed Chib, Block Medical officer Ramgarh, Dr. A.D.S Manhas and other members of samiti attended the meeting.
Responding to the demands of the RKS, Mr. Salathia assured that all these issues will be sorted out in faced manner.
The Minister directed the R&B department to gear up their men and machinery for timely completion of all the development works being done in the area.
