Srinagar, April 12: Resident doctors of SKIMS, Soura have expressed their dismay over the UT admin order that gives preference to those who have done their medical graduation from abroad. In a press release issued here today,  the association of the resident doctors expressed anguish over the decision.

The statement read, “With reference to recent order issued by UT of J&K vide order no. 282-JK(HME) Of 2023 dated 12.04.2023, RDA SKIMS feels that the said order is discriminatory and deleterious for the viability of health system. It is evident from the order that the doctors who have done the graduation in India in general and in J&K in particular will have meagre chances for appointment for the posts mentioned in the said order and the foreign graduates will have an edge which is unfair.” The association has said that there are other ways of ensuring equal opportunities for all like previously mentioned about the recruitment for permanent posts in health department, a (common entrance test). “We therefore urge the J&K administration to relook into the order and take the necessary measures for its rectification so that equal opportunities are provided to all the aspirants,” said Dr. Rubeena Bhat, Vice President, RDA.
