Srinagar: Huriyat friction lead by Mirwaiz Omar Farooq is reported to be probing the alleged sexual harassment by a valley based Human Rights activist Mohammad Ahsan Antoo after the wife of slain militant from North Kashmir’s Bandipora district approached the Huriyat camp with a written complaint to this effect.
Highly placed sources revealed that few days back, Jabeena (Name changed) wife of aa slain militant commander along with her daughter approached Huriyat office Rajbagh, Srinagar with a written complaint alleging that she and her daughter was sexually harassed by the activist after they visited him for help.
The lady alleged that the activist sexually harassed the duo at his private residence after assuring them financial help from the organization that he is running and receiving funds from number of foreign countries.
Sources said that the human rights activist, Ahsan Antoo has surrendered all the files of his organization before the Huriyat committee currently probing the allegation.
“Yes, one widow from Bandipora approached Huriyat office and lodged complaint against the activist who was later called in and asked to surrender all the files and suspend his activities till investigation,†one of the key members of Huriyat conference said. He said that few members advised lady to approach police but lady being the wife of slain militant refused by stating that Police is not worth to trust.
Ahsan Antoo, when contacted refuted the allegations and said that some people were hatching conspiracies against me. “If somebody has levelled allegations against me let them probe, I have surrendered files and decided to suspend my activities till they (Huriyat) complete the investigation.â€
Musadiq Aadil, office superintend and Chairman of one of the constituents, after being contacted confirmed and said, “Yes she levelled allegations, we held probe and found that the activist has not committed any crime except calling them to his private residence instead of office.
