Security forces busted militant hideout in J&K

Jammu, Jun 16 : The security forces today busted a militant hideout and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition and RDX from mountainous Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.

“Police and security forces achieved major success by effecting recovery of hand grenades, besides, huge arms and ammunition from a hideout during a search operation in Bonda forests area of Chatroo in district Kishtwar,” an official spokesman here said.

Police on tip off launched a search operation in Bonda forests of Chatroo area and located a militant hideout.

The recoveries made from the hideout included one RPG Rifle, one Pika Gun, one .303 Rifle, one .315 Rifle, one 12 Bore Rifle ,02 Pistols, 493 Ammunition of AK, Pika, Pistol, one RPG round, four UBGL Grenades, eight AK magazines, one Pistol Magazine, six Hand Grenades, seven detonators, one Barrel Pistol, one Radio Set and three kilogram RDX.

“The busting of the hideout has succeeded in derailing the nefarious designs of the militants and their supporters,” he said and added a case under relevant sections has been registered and investigations is under way .
