New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today said India’s security environment continued to be uncertain and the recent terror attack in Delhi was a grave reminder of the terrorist threat to the country’s security. Addressing the annual DGPs/IGPs conference on Internal Security, the Prime Minister expressed concern at the cross border
terrorism, especially in view of reports of terrorist camps being re-activated and cautioned against any complacency saying there was “no room
for complacency.” Without naming Pakistan, he said there were reports that a large number of terrorists were in camps across the border and attempting to infiltrate into Jammu and Kashmir. “We need to be ever vigilant if infiltration attempts are to be foiled and security maintained. There is no room for
complacency….” he said. On the issue of Naxalism, the Prime Minister asserted that the issue could only be solved if the Centre and the states worked together.
