Sankoo Campus, GDC Kargil Organises Awareness Programme on Legal Awareness

Kargil, November 11: The Sankoo Campus of Government Degree College Kargil, under the aegis of its outreach and extension activities, organized a Legal Awareness Programme today in collaboration with the Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Sankoo.

The event was graced by Madam Deldan Angmo, Munsif Judge, Tehsil Legal Services Sankoo & Principal Magistrate, Juvenile Justice Board Kargil, as the Chief Guest and Key Speaker for the occasion.

In her keynote address, Hon’ble Munsif Judge Madam Deldan Angmo delivered an insightful talk on various social and legal issues prevalent in society. She highlighted the pressing problems of sexual harassment, domestic violence, road safety violations, and substance abuse, explaining their legal implications and preventive measures. She emphasized the importance of awareness, vigilance, and proactive citizenship, urging students to raise their voice against injustice and be conscious of their legal rights and responsibilities as empowered citizens.

The event witnessed an enthusiastic participation of students and faculty members, who actively interacted and raised pertinent questions related to legal awareness and protection of individual rights.

The programme was moderated by Dr. Azra Khatoon, Assistant Professor, Department of English, GDC Kargil (Sankoo Campus), who ensured smooth coordination throughout the event.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Tehsil Legal Services Committee, Sankoo, and to Madam Deldan Angmo for her valuable insights and time.
