Rs 6 cr released for Lawyers Chambers at Jammu, Srinagar: Sagar

JAMMU: An amount of Rs 6 crore has been released till date for the construction of Lawyers Chambers at Srinagar and Jammu respectively.
The information was given at a high level review meeting convened here today under the chairmanship of the Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Law Justice and parliamentary Affairs Mr Ali Mohammad Sagar, Justice Varinder Singh, Commissioner Secretary Law Mr G.H. Tantray, Advocate General Mr M. I. Qadri, Chief Engineer R&B Jammu Mr Tasheen Mustafa, President Jammu Bar Association Mr B. S. Slathia and other senior officers of JKPCC, Law and Bar Members were also present.
Mr Sagar impressed upon the officers of the executing agencies to speed up the pace of the work on the pending lawyer’s chamber so that they can carry on their professional work without facing any inconvenience and people would also get benefited by the same. He said that we have already released huge amount of funds for the upgradation of the judicial infrastructure across the state so that the people living in these areas get the legal aid within the shortest possible time.
“Besides the construction of lawyers chambers we have already initiated the work on the construction of different courts at district and tehsil level, repair, renovation and upgradation of judicial infrastructure which also includes the construction of judicial academy, providing high-tech gadgetry to the High Court complexes as well”, the Minister said adding that an amount of Rs 23 crore has already been released for upgradation of judicial infrastructure across the state.
While asking the members of Bar Association to extend their active support in the construction of the lawyer’s chambers, the Minister said that they should also give their suggestions and feedback as well, so that these are constructed within the stipulated time-frame. (KMW News)
