R. S. Pura: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Mr. Raman Bhalla today said that the Government has earmarked Rs 4 crore for construction of mini secretariat for facilitating the people of this border town, adding that on the completion of complex likely by April 2012, the Revenue, Treasury and Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution issues of the people would be mitigate under one roof.
This was stated by the Minister while interacting with the locals after inspecting the pace of work on 4-storey mini secretariat, here today.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Mr. Ashwani Khajuria, besides other senior officers of Revenue and R&B accompanied the Minister.
Mr. Bhalla said that the Government was committed to make administration people friendly adding that for this purpose, Government has introduced Public Services Guarantee Act (PSGA) in PHE, PDD, CAPD, Revenue, H&HDD and Transport departments.
The Minister said instructions have been issued to the authorities of the respective departments to display sign boards in the premises of offices mentioning the time frame for disposal of people’s issues fixed by the Government under the ACt. He said PSGA has been introduced in the State to provide best services to the people adding the Act also provides for punishment in the form of fine to the officials who fail to meet the prescribed time frame.
Mr. Bhalla asked the Sub-Divisional Magistrate to ensure the implementation of PSGA in letter and spirit, making it clear that no laxity would be tolerated on this account. He asked the administration to display details about the provisions of the act in the office premises for the convenience of general masses.
The Minister also inspected the pace of work construction on Heritage Gate, for which Government has earmarked Rs. 10 lakh. He asked the executing agency to complete all the allied works on the project within one month so that the locals could get relief from long distance entry gate of Revenue Office, R. S. Pura. He said on the completion of the Heritage Gate, the distance to SDM office would also be reduced to a large extent.
For providing relief to drought hit families of 2009, Mr. Bhalla said the Government has approved Rs. 7.5 crore for distribution of relief among the affected families adding that instructions were issued to SDM to prepare the lists of families and submit the same within 10 days so that the relief could be disbursed among them by arranging public darbar in the town.
Earlier, at Channi (Marble Market) and Jeevan Nagar in Digiana, the Minister attended the functions organized by Vishwakarma Celebration Committees to mark the Vishwakarma Divas.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Bhalla said Lord Vishwakarma Divas is celebrated to inspire craftsmen, artisans, and workers and propagate a feeling of dignity of labour amongst the general people> He said the day inculcates a sense of pride in craftsmen and labour class. He said craftsmen are the main architects who help the Government in completing the prestigious projects well in time across the State.
