SRINAGAR: Asserting that Jammu and Kashmir is on the thresh hold of a big socio-economic revolution in view of ongoing massive infrastructure development in nook and corner , the Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, Mr. Abdul Rahim Rather today announced that the Technical Clearance Committee has cleared revival of Arzan Garzan and Malpora dams at a cost of Rs. 28 crore and Rs. 50 crore respectively. He said revival of Khanchi Irrigation Kanal has also been approved at a cost of Rs. 9.50 crore. On completion these projects would bring a big green revolution in Chari-i-Sharif constituency and adjacent areas.
Addressing a public gathering at Phakerpora about 40 kilometers from here, Mr. Rather said that all commitments made to the people would be fulfilled during remaining three years of the present government. He said people have pinned high hopes with the present dispensation adding that their hopes and needs would be accomplished as per their aspirations. The Minister said that the government is abreast with the problems of the people and no stone would be left unturned to mitigate their sufferings. He announced that Chari-i-Sharif –Yousmarg road is being upgraded at a cost of Rs 23 crore which will give a big boost to the tourism activities in the area. He said Kanidajan, Darwan Nowgam and Nagabal villages shall also be developed under Yousmarg Development Authority adding that all possibilities would be explored to construct a rope way from Nilnag to Bargah through Yousmarg to exploit tourism potential of the area optimally. He said Chari-i-Sharif and Phakerpora Shrines have been brought under the ambit of YDA to promote pilgrim tourism in the area.
Responding the demands of the people, Mr. Rather assured that keeping in view the central location of Phakerpora and its historical and Religious importance a receiving station and Niabat would be established at Phakerpora shortly. He also assured to complete construction of Rohmoo to Chari-i-Sharif Road while Tilsara expeditiously which shall provide shortest approach to the people especially pilgrims to visit the revered shrine of Hazrat Sheikh Noor-ud-Din Wali (RA). He said 4 Kms long Chari-i-Sharif- Tilsara road has been completed at a cost of Rs. 2 crore adding that infrastructure for sub district hospitals at Chari-i-Sharif- Phakerproa and Nagam shall be expeditiously. These hospital shall be fully equipped with modern diagnostic machines. He said 2 PHC’s have been sanctioned for remote areas of Nagbal and Tilsara. Adding that Union Health Minister, Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad has assured me to provide full assistance for improving health care system in the area. He directed the Engineers to make Brari-Pathri-Darwan Nowgam road traffic worthy within 15 days.
Describing unemployment a biggest challenge, Mr. Rather said all the available resources are been explored to create job opportunities for the youth. However, every educated youth cannot be adjusted in public sector and advised the youth to avail the benefits of SKEWPY which has been acknowledged at a national level. Adding that some states of the country are keen to adopt this model of employment policy.
