Srinagar, January 24 (KMW): Minister for Finance, Dr Haseeb Drabu on Wednesday informed the Legislative Assembly that Government has already announced a roadmap for the regularization of daily rated workers/casual workers working in various departments. He said around one lakh casual and other workers from all districts of the State have so far registered with the Finance Department through online Aadhar based biometric identification process.
The spokesman said replying to a Question by Rajeev Sharma in the House, the Minister said that out of the registered list, all eligible workers shall be covered under the Government Policy notified vide SRO 520 dated 21-12-2017 for regularization as Government Services Assistant (GSA). The detailed eligibility criterion has also been notified under the Government Policy. He, however, the contractual employees are being regularized in terms of the Jammu and Kashmir (Special Provisions) Act, 2010, said the Minister.
Elaborating further, Dr Drabu said that no person has been engaged in the Finance Department on contractual/ temporary/substantive basis without following the proper procedure and norms. He also clarified that as on date, there was no policy for engagement of unemployed engineering Degree/Diploma holders in different trades on the pattern of ReT, ReZ etc.
Mr Ali Mohammad Sagar raised supplementary question seeking the details of progress made in the process of regularization.
