UDHAMPUR: In continuation to the government’s endeavours to extend e-governance model to remotest corners of the State, Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Mr. Raman Bhalla today launched first ever official Website of Dudu Basantgarh sub-division of Udhampur district ‘http://dudubasantgarh.gov.in’ at the Conference hall of DC office complex, here today.
MLA Mr. Krishan Chander Bhagat, MLC Mr. Yashpaul Khajuria, Divisional Commissioner, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Mr. Jagjit Kumar, District Development Commissioner, Mr. Baseer Ahmed Khan, SSP Mr. Shakeel Ahmed Baig, SDM Mr. Amit Sharma, besides State Informatics Officer Mr. Abhay Kumar Sharma, Joint Director Planning, Mr. Rakesh Jamwal, sectoral officers and prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
Appreciating the efforts of district administration and Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Dudu Basantgarh for taking lead in developing first official Website of one of the remotest Sub-Division in J&K, the Minister hoped that the Website would attract people and tourists from across the country.
Mr. Bhalla said that the Government was committed to provide all basic information regarding different schemes, especially designed to ameliorate the socio-economic standard of the people at the grass-root level and added that the launch of this Website was a step forward in this direction. He said the Website contains lot of vital data such as Government rules and regulations, application forms, contact information related to all departments such as education, health, CAPD, Revenue and Police. He said one can assess the desired information within no time by assessing the Website from any place.
The Minister said that the Jammu and Kashmir State is known for its scenic splendor across the globe and maintained that there were lot of un-explored beautiful areas in the State which needs to be projected at the national and international levels for attracting tourists. He hoped that the other sub-divisions of the State would put in their similar sincere efforts to highlight such areas for the economic development.
Reiterating the commitment of the Government, Mr. Bhalla said that for the convenience of the general public and upkeep of revenue related records, Government has enforced Public Services Guarantee Act (PSGA). “Now, one can get the things done pertaining to different departments in a time bound mannerâ€, he said and added that delay in the delivery of services by the concerned offices to applicants would be dealt seriously.
For easy access of revenue related information, the Minister said that the Government was making its all out efforts to construct model record rooms across the State with computerized data.
While speaking on the occasion, legislators Krishan Chander Bhagat and Yashpal Khajurai complimented the all those officers who remained associated with the formulation of Website. They observed that Website would boost economic activity in the area besides bringing transparency in the functioning of Government offices in the sub-division.
Turning the launch of Website a revolutionary step in the modern age of Information Technology, Divisional Commissioner Dr. Pawan Kotwal said that the Website would go a long way in assessing variety of information regarding the picturesque Dudu Basantgarh. He congratulated the unique initiative of district administration and hoped that the official website would be of great help for the locals as well as the public all around the globe.
District Development Commissioner, Mr. Baseer Ahmed Khan in his inaugural address mentioned about the exclusive features of the Website of Dudu Basantgarh. He sought desired modifications and suggestions meant for the betterment of the newly launched Website .

Later, the Minister, accompanied by Divisional Commissioner and DDC, also inspected the newly constructed Model Record Room in the premises of DDC office complex completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 54 lakh.
