Slathia inaugurates lanes and drains, distributes cheques worth Rs 96000 under IAY

JAMMU: Minister for Industries and Commerce, Surjeet Singh Slathia today visited village Badoi, Salmeri, Gupwal, Pekhri and other areas of district Samba to review the ongoing development works under various being done under various state and centrally sponsored schemes.
The Minister inaugurated lanes and drains to be constructed at village Pekhri at a cost of Rs 4.65lakh under Constituency Development Fund.
Responding to the demands of the people, he directed the concerned authority for installation of Hand Pump, transformer for uninterrupted power supply, a high Mast Light for temple. He assured construction of Pekhri to Gujjar Mohalla link road as early as possible.
Addressing series of public meetings at Badoi, Salmeri and Gupwal villages in Vijaypur, the Minister said that efforts are afoot to provide all basic amenities like healthcare, better road connectivity and potable water supply to every habitation.
At Badoi village, he directed the concern authority for cleanliness of Government primary school Ground and construction of park with in a stipulated time frame. He assured that Patli Morh road and one dispensary would be constructed in the area soon. He also assured for up-gradation of primary school Badoi.
Responding to the demands of the people in village Salmeri, he assured lanes and drains would be constructed at the earlier.
Earlier, the Minister said that government would is according priority to attend vital issues like up-gradation of basic infrastructure in rural areas, drinking water, improved power supply, concrete lanes and drains etc.
The Minster distributed the cheques worth Rs. 96000 among the beneficiaries under Indira Awas Yojana.
Earlier, the Minister visited Amowal village where he announced installation of one tube well in the area for adequate water supply in the village.
