Retired Police officer shot dead in Kashmir

Srinagar: In a continuous spate of militant attacks in Kashmir, Unidentified gunmen shot at a retired police officer in Batamaloo, Srinagar, while coming out of Masjid after Friday prayers. He succumbed to his injuries.
Retired Dy. SP Abdul Hamid Bhat resident of Moominabad, Batamaloo was shot at by unknown militants, when he was coming out off Masjid Bilal Batamaloo after performing Friday prayers. He immediately succumbed to his injuries. Although, he was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police has registered a case in this regard and investigation has been started.
Pertinently, the security agencies have expressed fear that militancy in the Kashmir valley is showing signs of revival after witnessing a downslide for sometime.(KMW News)
