SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Mehjoor foundation in collaboration with State Information Department organised a special function at S.P.College Auditorium yesterday.
The event that comprised a seminar and a Book release ceremony was attended by a galaxy of intellectuals, litterateurs, poets and writers from across the valley
On this occasion, Director Information Khawaja Farooq Renzushah was the chief guest, while Principal S.P. College Srinagar Prof. Zahoor Ahmed Chatt, Eminent medico Dr. Altaf Hussain Mufti, Aijaz Kakroo were the guests of Honour. Three research papers were presented on the different facets Kashmiri language, literature and culture.
Eminent scholar, Dr. Farooq Fayaz offered through his paper entitled “Reflections of Mehjoor’s Message of Tolerance and Secularism in the work of his contemporaries and successes” a fair idea of how the relevance of a universal message sustains through time.
Dr. Shad Ramzan, a noted poet and critic essayed an evaluation of the current state of Kashmiri language in our daily routine and pointed out how the non serious attitude of a people towards its language could prove a big impediment for the propagation and progress of the language.
