R-day celebrated with patriotic fervour across Jammu Division

AKHNOOR: Republic Day-2012 was celebrated at Government Higher Secondary School (Boys), Akhnoor with great enthusiasm in Sub Division, Akhnoor.
Sub Divisional Magistrate, Akhnoor, Mr. Nagendra Singh Jamwal who was the chief guest hoisted the National Flag.
Contingents drawn from a number of schools from different parts of sub division participated in the March Past. Students also presented cultural items and patriotic songs.
On the occasion, three persons were awarded for their display of bravery in rescuing the people from drowning in the River Chenab. Two freedom fighter namely Sh. Atma Ram Sharma and Sh. Sahdev Singh were also felicitated on the occasion. Besides prizes were also distributed among the meritorious students and those who participated in the function.
Officers from Police and Civil administration alongwith a large number of citizens participated in the function. Similar functions to celebrate the Republic Day were also held at Niabat headquarters Jourian, Pargwal and Khour.
At Simbal, MMS Indian Public School, Simbal, working under the auspices of Dera Nangali Sahib Poonch celebrated Republic Day with mounted zeal and enthusiasm.
The Principal, Bharat Jyoti awarded, S. Kulwant Singh unfurled the National Flag and took salute from the contingents of the school. Speaking on the occasion he referred to the development of the country and mentioned multidimensional services of the Dera to society. The students presented captivating cultural bonanza. A large number of people drawn from the surrounding border villages attended. Sweets are also distributed on the occasion.
At Udhampur, Republic Day function was also organized at Tehsil, Sub Division and Niabat level in district Udhampur with great pomp and show, today.
At Chenani, the Republic Day main function was held in the premises of Government Higher Secondary School, Chenani, today.
MLA Chenani, Mr. Krishan Chander Bhagat was the chief guest on the occasion who unfurled Tricolour and took salute at the march past presented by the contingents drawn from various schools of the tehsil.
Tehsildar Chenani, Mr. S. N. Suman, Tehsil level officers, prominent citizens, teachers, students and people in large number were present to witness the national function.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA while complimenting the people on the auspicious day called upon the people and younger generation in particular to strive hard for the peace and prosperity of their Nation. He called for maintaining unity in diversity for the welfare and prosperity of the country. Colourful cultural programme was also presented by the students which was highly appreciated by the audience present on the occasion.At BASANTGARH, Republic Day function was organized at Govt. HSS Basantgarh premises in which huge number of people and employees participated.
Sub Divisional Magistrate, Dudu-Basantgarh, Mr. Krishan Lal Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion who unfurled the National flag and took salute and addressed the public.
The SDM distributed note books among the participants who drawn from the different educational institutions. Sarpanches, Panches, government officials and large numbers peoples were present on the occasion.
At Majalta, the R- Day function was celebrated with gaiety and patriotism in the premises of Government Higher Secondary School, Majalta where Tehsildar, Majalta, Mrs. Sapna Kotwal hoisted the National flag and took salute at the march past of contingents drawn from various educational institutions today. Cultural programmes were also presented by the school children which was highly liked by the audience.
At Katra, Additional Chief Executive Officer, SMVDSB, Katra, Dr. M .K Bhandari unfurled the National flag and took salute at an impressive march past of contingents drawn from CRPF, JKP, NCC and various educational institutions including JKP in the premises of Govt. HSS Katra, today. A colourful cultural programme was also presented by the students on the occasion. Prizes were also given to the participating teams and meritorious students.
Complimenting the people on the occasion, Mr. Bhandari said that the every citizen of India was provided with equal rights under the Constitution of India irrespective of any caste, colour or religion. He called for maintaining communal harmony and work for the upliftment of the down trodden sections of the society to make the nation prosperous and strong.
On the occasion, Headmaster, GGHS Katra, Mr Harish Dubey and Deputy Divisional Manager, SMVDSB, Mr Gopal Sharma was also honoured for best performance in their respective field.
Among others, senior police and civil officers, prominent citizens, heads of different educational institutions and students in large number were present on the occasion.
At Ramnagar, Tehsildar Ramnagar, Mr. Susheel Kesar hoisted the Tricolour at a main function held in the premises of Govt. HSS, Ramnagar and took salute at the march past presented by the NCC and schools students of various educational institutions, Tehsil Officers of different departments, prominent citizens, teachers, students and people in large number of people were present on the occasion. Cultural programme presented by students was highly liked by the audience.
At Gool, Tehsildar Agrarian Reforms, Mr. Majjd Choundhary hoisted the National flag at GHSS, Gool premises. Commanding Officer 58 RR was the guest of honour on the occasion. The contingent of Police and educational institutions presented impressive march past and the school children also presented colourful cultural programmes on the occasion. Among prominent persons of the area, large number of people was also present to witness the function.
At Panchari, Naib Tehsildar, Panchari hoisted National flag in the premises of GHSS, Panchari, where large number of school students and audience was present to witness the function.
At Bhaderwah, Republic Day was celebrated today with great enthusiasm national flag was hoisted by Sub Division Magistrate Bhaderwah, Mr S V Meena who took salute at march past and inspected ceremonial parade. (KMW News)
