Deptt realises fine of Rs. 6.12 lakh from erring traders
SRINAGAR, KMW News: The Minister for CA&PD, Mr. Qamar Ali Akhoon today convened a meeting to review the availability of essentials and supply position in valley for the winter at civil secretariat, Srinagar.
The Minister was informed that there is buffer stock of essential commodities like rice, sugar, atta, k-oil and LPG in the valley. He was further informed that in order to control the black marketing and hoarding, the checking squads have been constituted which have conducted 1130 inspections at different markets of the valley and have realised an amount of Rs. 612350 as fine from the erring traders. It was also given out that the department has seized 286 gas cylinders from the dealers in violation of the act.
The Minister on this occasion instructed that adequate supplies should be dumped at all the sale outlets of the department particularly at far flung areas so that the people do not face any inconvenience during the winter season.
Earlier, Minister inaugurated M/s City Gas Services at Gogji Bagh which is 27th LPG distribution unit in the district and said that it will cater the need of the area and will augment the gas supply to the consumers.
The Director CA&PD, Mr. Abdul Wahid Tak and other senior officers of the department were present on the occasion.
