The grassroot Governance in form of Municipal Committees is the main and important part of Democracy, but despite the system ushered in Kashmir the several bureaucratic hurdles are killing the process .
Despite no confidence motion passed against the Pampore Municipal Committee Chairman more than 3 months ago and recent clear cut directions of Honorable High Court Jammu and Kashmir the DC Pulwama is not issuing the notification for the Pampore Municipal Committee Chairman elections.
Malik Yaqoob Former Pampore Municipal Committee Chairman expressed disappointment that despite the Municipal act and all rules and regulations in place urging for the election and honorable court Directions have also stressed to conduct elections sooner without any delay , the notification of elections by DC is ignored .
Civil ,social and legal circles are urging to issue the notification for election soon for the post of Pampore Municipal Committee Chairman .
Despite repeated contacts to the Pulwama DC Baseer-ul-Haq Choudhary
he did not respond.
