Srinagar, October 29(KMW): On a specific tipoff regarding the presence of lottery sellers running their illegal business near Biscoe School Lal Chowk, SHO Kothibagh along with police party reached the spot and apprehended two lottery sellers. The arrested were caught selling lottery tickets to people.
The lottery sellers were apprehended with tickets and relevant material and an auto-rickshaw bearing registration no. JK01H-4604, used for selling lottery tickets around Lal Chowk was also seized.
A case under FIR No. 70/2018 420,294 RPC, 13 Game and Betting Act was registered and an investigation initiated.
In another similar raid, Police Station Kothibagh led by SHO Sajjad Asad arrested five gamblers at Peerzoo Park near GPO.
Stake money of Rs. 3200/-, 5 mobile phones and some other accessories were also recovered from the spot.
A Case under FIR No. 89/2018 U/S 13 Gambling Act has been registered and investigation taken up.
