Srinagar, May 24(KMW): Strict curfew has been imposed by the state throughout Kashmir in the wake of Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind chief Zakir Musa’s Killing. Mobile internet was snapped across the Valley minutes after the news of Musa’s death spread like wildfire. Musa was killed on Thursday in a brief shootout in Tral tehsil of South Kashmir. Anti-India and pro-freedom demonstrations and slogans rocked various parts of the Valley instantly. Demonstrations and stone-pelting was reported in various parts of Srinagar today as well.
Musa was killed by forces and police in a cordon and search operation at Dadsara in Tral area of Pulwama district.

Authorities had already ordered closure of all educational institutions across the valley to prevent students’ protests against the killing of Zakir Musa and his associate before announcing curfew.
Meanwhile, heavy deployments of troops and police personnel has been ensured in Srinagar, Badgam, Ganderbal, Pulwama, Islamabad, Shopian, Kulgam, Bandipora, Kupwara and Baramulla districts.
In view of the prevailing situation in Kashmir, the authorities of Kashmir University (KU), Srinagar, and Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), Awantipora Pulwama, have postponed all the exams slated for today.
