Srinagar, Sep 9(KMW): Senior Leader, Hurriyat Conference(M) and Chairman, People’s Political Party (PPP), Engineer Hilal Ahmad War on Friday lashed out at coalition Government for keeping All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Chairman, Dr. Mirwaiz Mohammad Umar Farooq under continuous detention and demanded his immediate release from sub-jail Chasma-Shahi. His continuous detention reflects Indian ideology and colonial policy of Government of India viz-a-viz Kashmir.
“Mirwaiz is not only Chairman of APHC but also Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir (Chief Priest) therefore, it is obligatory for the Government to ensure his release on the eve of Eid in order to allow him to perform his religious obligations”, said Engineer Hilal.
Mr. War said with authority that keeping Mirwaiz under continuous detention will make the situation more volatile, therefore, the situation demands that all the resistance leaders and young boys should be released before Eid as one of the Confidence Building Measures.
