PPP condemns continuous detention of Engineer Hilal War.

Srinagar, 18 Mar (KMW): The People’s Political Party (PPP), spokesman, Professor Maqbool has condemned in strong words the illegal and unconstitutional continuous detention of Hurriyat Conference (M) leader and J&K People’s Political Party (PPP) Chairman, Engineer Hilal Ahmed War.

Pertinent to mention here that Mr. War was arrested from his his strong hold area Maisuma residence on Saturday morning when a heavy contingent of State Police raided his house early in the morning on March 15 and detained him in Police Station Kothi Bagh, Srinagar.

Mr. War detention is bad in the eyes of law and is a clear violation of Jammu and Kashmir Constitution as well as rule of law.

PPP spokesman , said, “Police is misusing Penal Laws in Kashmir and violating the provisions of Universal Declaration of Human Rights in this conflict zone of Kashmir.”

He further said police is at liberty to raid any house, at any time whether day or night, arrest anyone of their choice.

Detain illegally for any amount of time without any judicial warrant from concerned Magistrate.(KMW)
