Srinagar, Apr 23: The police has got vital clues in Tral attack wherein unidentified gunmen had killed three people including a Sarpanch, his son, and a village head in late evening on April 21.

Talking to news agency, IGP Kashmir Abdul Ghani Mir said: “We have got some vital clues and we will share the details only after establishing the facts.” He said that police has taken several measures in the area to nab the culprits.
A senior police officer in Awantipora said that the police has intensified patrolling and domination in the area after the Monday’s attack. “It is not only due to this attack but since the elections are scheduled in South Kashmir tomorrow, certain concrete steps have been taken to prevent any untoward incident,” the police officer told news agency pleading anonymity.
Regarding the wave of terror and the resignations in bulk tendered by Panchayat representatives in the area, the police officer said that Panchs and Sarpanches have been taken into confidence and all the help from police has been ensured to them. “We have told them to feel free to call at anytime in case they need police help,” said the police officer, adding that army in the whole area has also been alerted to prevent any eventuality.
