Police arrests BSNL employee for providing SIM’s to militants

Srinagar, (KMW News): Jammu and Kashmir Police today claimed they arrested a Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited employee for providing SIM cards on fake names to the militants in north Kashmir’s apple town Sopore.

“We arrested Sajad Ahmad Dar resident of Sangrampora, Sopore, working with BSNL Sopore for providing ten Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) and one Wireless in Local Loop (WILL) connection to militants of Hizbul Mujahideen militant outfit.” Police spokesman said. “The accused is a contractual employee with BSNL and IT expert has been working for Hizbul Mujahideen militant network for about one year,” police claimed.

The police spokesman added that the SIM and WILL connection so provided have been registered on fake names and addresses, and this was done with in connivance of some other accused that are yet to be arrested.

A Case FIR No. 311/2011 under section 420, 467/RPC and 10 C.L.A has been registered in police station Sopore and investigation into the matter has been set into the process, he added.
