Police arrests 02 drug peddlers in Srinagar, contraband substances recovered

Srinagar, February 08: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Srinagar Police has arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A police team of PS Chanapora during naka checking near Estate Quarter intercepted a motor cycle bearing registration number JK01AB-3331 with two persons on board, who tried to flee from the spot but were apprehended tactfully. During search, substantial quantity of drugs and narcotic substances was recovered from their possession. Subsequently, they were arrested and have been identified as Shahrim Anasari son of Tasleem Anasari resident of Muzaffar Nagar UP A/P Mandir Bagh and Saqib Ansari son of Sajad Anasari resident of Muzaffar Nagar UP A/P Mandir Bagh Srinagar.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No 05/2025 under relevant sections of NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Chanapora and further investigation has been initiated.

We urge the common masses that if you witness drug peddling or any other crime anywhere near you, feel free to contact nearest police establishment or dial 112. People are requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law.
