Sopore, June 28: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police arrested a drug peddler in Sopore and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police party of Police Station Bomai during naka checking at Bun Astan Tujjer intercepted a suspicious person. During checking, Charas like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Irfan Ahmad Sheikh son of Abdul Majeed Sheikh resident of Panzipora Tarzoo. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 34/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Bomai and further investigation is underway to trace the source and wider network involved.
