Dhaka: Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today said the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to her country will add a new dimension to the bilateral relations between the two neighbouring countries.
Ms Hasina said this when visiting National Security Adviser Shiv Shankar Menon called on her at Gonobhaban, Abul Kalam Azad, Press Secretary to the Prime Minister, told reporters after the meeting.
Informing Ms Hasina about the details of the tour, Mr Menon termed Dr Singh’s visit very important and historic.
Dr Singh will be accompanied by five Chief Ministers, including Mamata Banerjee of West Bengal, for the first time during any visit to Bangladesh by any Prime Minister.
Mr Menon described Bangladesh’s economic condition as good and said it is improving day by day.
In response, Ms Hasina said the main objective of her government is to improve the economic condition of the common people and it is working to this end relentlessly with full honesty and sincerely.
