Chennai: Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs V Narayanasamy, who visited villagers agitating against Nuclear Power Project at Kudankulam, today said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would take the final decision on halting further work at the site. Deputed by the Prime Minister, Mr Narayanasamy briefed Chief
Minister J Jayalalithaa on his visit to Kudankulam and the feedback he got from the agitating local villagers after calling on her at the Secretariat here this morning. Talking to newspersons, he said he conveyed what the Prime Minister had said and would convey to the Prime Minister, the views expressed by the Chief Minister.He said he would apprise the Prime Minister on Ms Jayalalithaa’s views on Kudankulam Nuclear Project and the Prime Minister would decide if the operationalisation of the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project needs to be deferred or not.”As an emissary of the Prime Minster, I called on the protestors against Kudankulam Nuclear Project yesterday. ”I briefed the Chief Minister about the meeting. The Chief Minister also expressed her views on the issue. I will now apprise Prime Minister of the developments and my meeting with the Chief Minister on the issue,” he said.
